How do people make techno or ambient music? - whats ambient pill
I have a Yamaha PSR-290, all techno and ambient sounds that would have to have, but do not know how the people, recording / mixing. What kind of hardware / software do I have to mix and record, or should I create and mix everything on the computer?

You can easily record the sounds with something free like Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I use to GarageBand iLife '09 suite. You need an adapter to connect the keyboard in GarageBand, but set and once registered, you can edit, add loops and making all sorts of amazing things with it.
